This year’s People’s Choice Awards was full of celebrities, surprises, and fun. Hosted by Queen Latifa, there were 16 awards given out. One of the big winners was Sandra Bullock. She and the rest of The Proposal cast won Favorite Comedy Movie. The Proposal over shadowed The Hangover, 17 Again, Bride Wars and He’s Just Not That Into You. Bullock also won Favorite Movie Actress for her performance in The Blindside, beating out Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Kristen Stewart, and Anne Hathaway.

This year there was a new category added to the show. The nominees for Favorite Web Celeb were Miley Cyrus, Andy Samberg, P. Diddy, Ashton Kutcher, and Will Ferrell. Beating CNN to one million followers on Twitter, Ashton Kutcher came away with the title.

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were both nominated for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Country Artist. Underwood won Country Artist, while Swift swept Female Artist. Both wins were rewarding because of their stiff competition such as Beyoncé, Pink, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban.

Glee and Vampire Diaries also deserve recognition as the Favorite New TV Comedy and Favorite New TV Drama.

If you are looking for a laugh, People’s Choice gave Favorite TV Comedy to The Big Bang Theory. The other nominees were How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, The Office, and Desperate Housewives. Even though it may have been a disappointment for some that The Office didn’t win, Steve Carell walked away with Favorite TV Comedy Actor, for his role in The Office.

The highest honor of the night, however, was awarded to Johnny Depp. He won Favorite Movie Actor and perhaps an even bigger title. Over the last ten years he has gotten more votes than any other actor, making him People’s Choice Actor of the Decade.

The People’s Choice Awards have created memories and fulfilled dreams for years and will continue to do so for years to come.
