From the Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, to the Sony Reader, eReaders have made reading a book a thing of the past. Any one of these devices holds about a library of books.

An e-book reader, also called an e-book device or e-reader, is an electronic device that is designed primarily for the purpose of reading digital books and periodicals and uses e-ink technology to display content to readers. The main advantages of these devices are portability, readability of their screens in bright sunlight, and long battery life. Any Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) that is capable of displaying text on a screen is also capable of being an e-book reader, but without the advantages of an electronic ink display.

E-readers can hold many of your favorite book titles, all at your fingertips. They even are capable to take notes, save clippings of quotations, listen to music, and highlight passages. They’re convenient, portable and good for the environment. In fact, the only real downside we can see to an electronic book over a real paper book is that you’ll have a few more problems if you accidentally spill your coffee on it or get splashed at the pool. But even that may not be a factor with a waterproof case.

Using these devices are usually easy, but not everyone has the same capabilities as one another.

From text to speech to having your textbooks for school, the limits are endless! With all the hype these e-books are making, could finding a paper book be a thing that will vanish completely? It is possible that the use of paper books will never be the same. Even the publishing of an e-book involves fewer barriers than publishing a regular printed book. According to self-publishing websites, e-books will eventually dominate the reading world as they are easier and faster to obtain. All of this will not happen, though, until they are less expensive and all the glitches have been worked out. So until then, your bookshelves are safe.
